Gems are a type of equippable item in Breach. Rubies (Red Gems) and Sapphires (Blue Gems) provide small bonuses to various universal stats, such as movement speed or ranged damage, while Prismatic gems provides more substantial bonuses to specific spells.

Each class can be equipped with 6 gems: 2 Red Gems, 2 Blue Gems, and 2 Prismatic Gems. You can also equip two of the same gems. For Rubies (Red Gems), and Sapphires (Blue) This rule does not apply for Prismatic Gems though.

Players start with 2 Vitality Sapphires and 2 Vitality Rubies, they will be automatically equipped to all mages.

Acquiring gems[edit | edit source]

Gems can only be acquired through purchase in the Shop for 400 gold each. They are listed under the Equipment tab.

Red and Blue Gems[edit | edit source]

A maximum of 2 Rubies (Red Gems) and 2 Sapphires (Blue Gems) can be equipped at a time. Sapphires generally provide higher values for defensive and utility stats such as Healing and Damage Resistance and Rubies generally provider higher values for aggressive stats such as Bonus Damage and Cooldown and Charge Accrual. Many of the Gems have two variants, a "normal" variant that provides a flat bonus throughout the match, and an "Empowering" variant that scales as the character's Team Level increases.

Prismatic Gems[edit | edit source]

Prismatic Gems modify specific spells, often by offering a trade-off such increasing a skill's damage but also giving it a longer cooldown. Unlike Red and Blue Gems, equipping multiple copies of a Prismatic Gem does not stack its effects.
