This page will serve as a basic how to play guide for Breach. While there is very little information available at this time, we urge you to check back often, as new information is being added all the time! Feel free to edit this guide with any tips, tricks, and suggestions.
Basic gameplay[ | ]
Each game consists of 4 heroes (with bots filling in for missing players) traveling through several sectors of a mission and completing objectives such as kill the enemies or capture the points, the final of which is a boss fight. As they do so, a purple smoke monster called a Veil Demon (which is controlled by the AI in a co-op game or a player in versus) tries to stop them by creating traps, debuffing players, and possessing, summoning, and buffing monsters. The heroes win if they kill the boss at the end, and the Veil Demon wins if all the heroes are downed at once. Each sector has a time limit, and if the timer runs out before the objective is completed, the Veil Demon wins that sector. Winning sectors is not necessary to win the level, but winning sectors will grant upgrades for the remainder of the mission, such as additional dodges for the heroes, or cooldown reductions for the Veil Demon, among many other possible bonuses.
Classes[ | ]
Classes can be divided based on school or role. Each class comes with 5 abilities, but these can be switched with abilities from other classes within the same school as you level them up, with the exception of the signature spell (right-click).
Each class has gear and gems that can be modified to increase stats and buff specific abilities, although gear is limited by the class's school.
Spells[ | ]
Each class has its own set of default spells, consisting of a signature, 3 general, and an ultimate spell. Once you have leveled up a class, you can swap unlocked spells with unlocked spells of another class in the same school. For example, if your Arcane Mender is at level 3 and your Elementalist is at level 5, your Arcane Mender has their Transcendent Blast spell unlocked, and the Elementalist has both the Meteor and Aqueous Globe spell unlocked. Since they are both in the Arcane school, you can swap Transcendent Blast with either Meteor or Aqueous Globe on the Mender, or either Meteor or Aqueous Globe with Transcendent Blast on the Elementalist.
General spells 1-3 and ultimates unlock at class levels 2, 4, 6, and 8 respectively. Signature spells do not unlock and are tied to their classes.
